EVgo Autocharge+ allows EV drivers to start a charge by simply plugging in, no extra steps needed. It makes charging faster and easier. To get started, download the EVgo app.
Update: The new Tesla CCS Combo 1 Adapter is now available for use on the EVgo network. Most Tesla models are compatible with the adapter, but please log into your Tesla account to verify. With the CCS Combo 1 Adapter, Tesla Models S, 3, X and Y are eligible to enroll in Autocharge+.
Types of Tesla Connectors
Learn more below about each connector used with an EVgo charging station
SAE J1772 Charging Adapter
Standard L2 charger adapter. The charge rate will vary by the charger and the state of charge of the Tesla battery.
Integrated Tesla Connector
Customers can use a Tesla connector directly from the charger at select sites. The charge rate will vary by the charger with speeds up to 50kW.
CHAdeMO Adapter
A CHAdeMO adapter can be used at EVgo fast chargers by connecting to the EVgo CHAdeMO connector with charging speeds up to 50kW.
Tesla CCS Combo 1 Adapter
CCS Combo 1 Adapter offers charging speeds up to 250 kW from the CCS connector. It can be purchased from Tesla by signing into your Tesla account to ensure your vehicle is compatible.
Charge with a Tesla CCS Combo 1 Adapter
Connect the CCS Combo 1 Adapter to the CCS connector at the EVgo station.
Plug into your Tesla vehicle.
Start charging session via Autocharge+, EVgo app, program card, or credit card.*
Charge with a Tesla Connector
1. Connect your Tesla vehicle using the connector.
2. Start charging session via the EVgo app, program card, or credit card.*
3. Return the Tesla connector to the charger holster when your session has completed.
Charge with a Tesla CHAdeMO Adapter
Connect the CHAdeMO connector to the adapter by lining up the connector’s grooves (located on top) with the connector’s corresponding grooves in the Tesla adapter.
Push the CHAdeMO connector and adapter together until you hear a locking click.
Plug the Tesla connector into your vehicle so that it latches.
Initiate a CHAdeMO charging session using the EVgo app, charger touchscreen, EVgo Program Card, or credit card.*
(Register with the EVgo app and start charges right from your phone!)
Please note that the Tesla SAE J1772 charging adapter is not compatible with fast charging, but can be used at EVgo Level 2 chargers.
