Keith Hutchison

Chief People Officer

Keith Hutchison is the Chief People Officer of EVgo, with responsibility for all areas of the employee lifecycle, from attraction & recruitment to development, retention and reward, ensuring that EVgo has the right capabilities deployed to deliver high performance for its customers today, whilst planning and executing solutions to scale the company into the future.  

Keith is a strategic HR leader who brings over 20 years of experience working in both the energy and EV industries. He has an extensive background in delivering innovative people solutions, and enabling and developing teams to deliver high performance in a growth environment. 

A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, he is a business graduate from the University of Northumbria, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Personnel & Development (CIPD) in the UK. Prior to joining EVgo, Keith served as Chief People Officer for Tritium, an Australian-based company which designs and manufactures DC fast chargers for electric vehicles. He held senior leadership roles in the UK and US at National Grid, a multinational electricity and gas utility company, where he was latterly the Chief HR & Diversity Officer for their North America business, which included responsibility for Labor Relations. Under Keith’s leadership, National Grid USA was widely recognized externally as a Top Employer, Best Employer for Diversity, and a World’s Most Ethical Company.  Keith himself was named by the National Diversity Council in their 2020 Top 50 Chief Diversity Officer List and in their 2022 Top 100 HR Professionals List.  

Keith’s experience includes time served as member of the Helen Keller Services Board of Directors from 2017 to 2021 where he was Chair of the CEO Succession Committee in New York City, and during the same period was Chair of the Executive Council at the Center for Energy Workforce Development in Washington D.C. Keith is based in Boston, MA.
